On television a few nights ago was an interesting news segment on the Moldovan channel. I can never really entirely understand what the news is about because the broadcasters speak too fast, but I definitely understood this important segment.
On the bottom of the screen read: DYNAMO ARE CULOARE. A futbol team was being filmed during practice, with the camera mostly following three players. Three black players. The news broadcast was all about how this futbol team now has three black players. The camera followed them after practice as well, allowing the viewers to experience the black sportsmen off the field. "Ce face?" One asked. (What's up.) Was it ever novel!
When was the last time in America a minority playing on a sports team was breaking news? Like, what, fifty years ago?
